Free Energy's new vid

Though Paul Sprangers and co. have long since left MPLS for Philly, (where his awesome band Free Energy has been makin' national waves ever since) we still have a soft spot for our old pals (some, formerly of Hockey Night). We still also carry a torch for Sprangers' cohort, Lauren Schad, a former local clothing/costume designer/l'etoile staffer whose work you may remember from the cover of the last print edition of l'etoile (ie-the epic bed sheet dress!).

Well, Free Energy has released a new video for their rockin' tune "Bang Pop" via Myspace and Miz Lauren has done all the costuming/styling. Yay Lauren! Yay Free Energy! Cool vid!

Former Hockey Night rockers on the rise in 2010

Former locals and Hockey Night rockers Paul Sprangers and Scott Wells left our fair cities a couple of years ago for Philly, where their new band, Free Energy, was promptly signed to the famed DFA record label. Sprangers' girlfriend, Lauren Schad (fashion designer and former l'etoile contributor), just posted a Facebook status update letting everyone know that Free Energy has been named the #1 band to watch in 2010 by Spin Magazine! Congrats guys!
