Music Video Thursday: New videos released by Low, Bon Iver, Mason Jennings

It's Music Video Thursday apparently, because there are not one, not two, but THREE new local music videos floating around the Twitterverse today. Yesterday, Pitchfork posted the new music video by Duluth slowcore band Low for "Especially Me," off their latest release C'Mon, in which singer/drummer Mimi Parker takes a ride on the NYC subway system in fast-forward:



(They also just announced a tour with international and national dates, as well as two sorta-local shows: September 3 at the Masonic Temple in Winona, and October 14 at Duluth's Marshall High School Auditorium.)

Also out today is Bon Iver's latest video from Bon Iver, Bon Iver, "Holocene." It's directed by Nabil Elderkin (who's worked with Kanye West, Frank Ocean, and Common) and was shot within Iceland's glacial landscapes. In a nod to nature, the video premiered on National Geographic's website:

And just a moment ago, Paste Magazine debuted a new music video by local folkie Mason Jennings, "Bitter Heart," directed by Andre Durand, who has also made videos for Bon Iver and Tapes ‘N’ Tapes. For the next several Thursdays, Paste will be premiering a new video from his forthcoming Minnesota LP. The video is nonembeddable, so you'll have to head over to the Paste Magazine site to check it out.

Golden Boys

Everybody's favorite local radio station, The Current, made a big announcement this morning: "We're proud to announce the line-up of our fifth anniversary party happening on January 29 at First Avenue. Members will get an early chance to get tickets to see Solid Gold, P.O.S., Mason Jennings, Lookbook, and Twilight Hours." We were excited to see a few of our local favorites on the same rooster, which was a general opinion on Twitter this morning. However, @solace (AKA Kyle Matteson from More Cowbell) raised a legit concern:
