Mad Men Scandal!

Let us summarize it for you: There is a Mad Men contest on AMC. Our favorite DJ, Jake Rudh applies, as well as few other Minneapolites. A girl by the name Jessa Alt submits a pretty bangin' photo for the contest. She gets a gazillion votes. AMC investigates, accuses her of fraud. Jessa is out of the competition.

Jahna Peloquin's has all the details over at Vita.mn. You can also read Jake's comments on his Facebook page, where he speculates that Jessa (and others) were targeted by other cheaters who wanted to make it appear that highly ranked (real) contestants were using auto-voting, hence getting said contestants disqualified and moving themselves up for the win. Sounds rather diabolical and complicated to us, but the internetz are strange and people are crazy. Either way, shame on AMC for not figuring out a way to make the contest 100% fair from the get-go.

Apparently, despite repeated appeals to AMC, Jessa's been told she's screwed: She can re-enter the competition, but will have to start from square one.

Vote for Jake (he is still in the competition).

Update: Jessa is back in the competition with an equally stunning, but different, photo. Vote for her here. From what we've heard, it seems she's an honest person and was unjustly disqualified, so help a lady out.

Vita.mn editor Simon Peter Groebner adds, "I've only met Jessa once, but she doesn't seem like the type to cheat on something like this. That photo, on the other hand, is the cream of the crop. The fiasco reminds me of our Hotness contest -- a few cheaters every year with tons of votes from one IP, and moreover, lots of sabotage votes against others. We cleaned it up on our end, but AMC shouldn't disqualify such an obviously good candidate."
