This is terrible!

Lil Wayne and Drake rumors said to fuel MOA fights

Anyone who's been following social media channels on Monday has heard about the crazy fight that went down at the Mall of America. CBS reported that as many as 200 people were involved in the fights. Some blamed the fight on rumors that Drake and Lil Wayne would be making a surprise appearance, but we say everyone went cray for day-after-Christmas deals.

There are a bunch of grainy videos showing parts of the fight, which seemed to be not one single fight but multiple. Here's some insane video of people lobbing chairs:

More videos from the fight can be seen here and here.

Lady Gaga wrote X-mas track in Minnesota

Lady Gaga just revealed on Twitter that her to-be-released-at-midnight-tonight X-mas track was penned while she was on her "Monster Ball" tour bus in St. Paul back in August 2010, around the same time she infamously was captured in the Turf Club's photobooth. Listen to the track here:

Also on Twitter, Gaga says that it's not the same song as the just-leaked track "Take You Out," which you can listen to here:

Video: Get Surly at Merwin's Video Contest

Local liquor store chain Merwin Liquors just made it easy to score 40 cases of Surly beer. They just announced a contest to do just that with this well-produced video, which encourages Surly fans to create a their own cell-phone video using the tagline "get Surly at Merwin's" for the chance to win. Bonus: Tyler Peterson of long-loved local noise band Sarah Johnson makes a cameo.

Night Moves signed to Domino Records

Big news on the local music front: Night Moves have just been signed to Domino Records, curernt home of Animal Collective, Arctic Monkeys, Clinic, Junior Boys, Dirty Projectors, the Kills, Franz Ferdinand, the list goes on. Suffice to say, it's a pretty huge deal. The label will be re-releasing the band's excellent 2011 release Colored Emotions, which was originally released on Afternoon Records but pulled shortly thereafter, sometime in 2012. We smell big things for this band - besides their excellently-produced album and solid live performances, they're pretty damn Teen Beat-dreamy. Head over to Gimme Noise for more details.

Weekend Twitterings

Some of you Tweeted from Paris and Amsterdam and made us all jealous. Some of you reported on some terrible (read: great) new TV shows. See what else happened in the latest edition of Weekend Twitterings!

Oh, the horror.

Ouch.

That's a good strategy.

Nope, just plain ole Amsterdam.

LOL.

Ha!

We're jealous!

Aaaw!

It's a pretty rad helmet, we have to admit.

We have a pretty good idea who said it too.

Yep.

Wugazi, Low tracks make Hitsville U.K.'s top 40 of 2011 list

Minnesota made a strong showing in Hitsville U.K.'s Top 40 Songs of 2011 List. Wugazi's "Sleep Rules Everything Around Me" Wu-Tang Clan + Fugazi mash-up takes the #32 spot, and Duluth slowcore stalwarts Low take #33 with "Try to Sleep."

Take that, Lady Gaga.
