Shelby leaves WCCO

Not to be outdone by Fox 9's news that Robyne Robinson is leaving, WCCO busts out with its own shocker: Longtime news anchor Don Shelby is retiring. Ok, well perhaps it's not such a shocker, as Shelby is a lot closer to retirement age than Robinson, and has been hinting at it for quite some time, but still! D-Shelb has been a local news fixture for as long as we can remember!

WCCO reports, "More than 32 years after Shelby's first newscast at WCCO-TV, Monday, Nov. 22 will be Shelby's last night of anchoring WCCO 4 News at 10 p.m. The following night, Frank Vascellaro will join Amelia Santaniello as the new co-anchor at 10 p.m."

Maybe we can start a rumor that Robinson and Shelby are running away together?

Uptown Diner in St. Paul now serving EAR

Bring Me The News tweeted a strange story via the Pi Press today that detailed an encounter between a Northfield middle school teacher and a group of diners early Sunday morning. Apparently drunken 6th grade teacher Susan Mukuhi Mwarabu got a hankering for something not on the menu around 4 a.m. when she approached another table and promptly bit off a piece of another patron's ear. She then picked up the chomped off hunk of lobe off the floor and put it in her mouth.

Personally, we would have just gone to White Castle, where ears (and other tasty parts) are properly processed and compressed into patties.

Wiseguy star offers Golden Globe in exchange for glued cat info

Bring Me The News tweets about a strange development in the cat-glued-to-I90 story that we were all in shock over last week.

Apparently, retired actor Ken Wahl of Wiseguy fame was so appalled by the horrific act that he's offering his Golden Globe award from the 80s TV show as incentive for people to come forward in the case. Kind of weird, but also pretty cool.

City Pages picked up the story as well, and posts an awesome Wiseguy video.
