Polica tracks featured during runway show for Parisian fashion house Chloe

Here's a sure sign of a band worth its buzz: the music of local band Poliça was featured in the runway for for French fashion house Chloé's Fall/Winter 2012/2013 collection earlier today at the Jardin des Tuileries during Paris Fashion Week - specifically, the tracks "Violent Games" and "Wandering Star." We can't imagine a better soundtrack to the fashion line's chic, moody, gorgeous collection.

VIdeo of the Day: The Sevateem

Cool new band alert! You may have caught wind of The Sevateem's debut track/video "Blast" last month, and hot on its heels is the release of "City," a catchy electronic track with sugar coated vocals and fiery lyrics. Of course, we'd expect nothing less from the husband-wife duo of Christian Erickson and Janey Winterbauer, who made names for themselves with critically acclaimed local band, Astronaut Wife, as well as numerous other projects . The question is, when do we get to see The Sevateem play live?

Video: Coco and Breezy in new Beyonce video

Eyewear-designing twins Coco and Breezy have been blowing up since they made the move from Minnesota to NYC. The duo have been featured in everything from Essence to Elle, and count Ashanti, Nicki Minaj, Kelly Osbourne and Kelly Rowland as fans of their sunglasses line. Apparently, their personal style got them noticed by the casting agent for Beyonce's new video for the early '90s R&B throwback jam "Party" (which also features a cameo by Rowland). Here are screenshots from the video featuring Coco and/or Breezy, wearing shades from their new "Rainy Days" collection (available now at www.cocoandbreezy.com). Watch the video in full below.

Gale & Huiting collab for Colin Stetson video

Today Pitchfork premiered the new video for "The Stars in His Head" by Montreal-based saxophonist Colin Stetson (Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, Bell Orchestre), which was directed by local luminaries Isaac Gale and Daniel Weekly Huiting with art direction by David Jensen. Pretty spooky/intense/beautiful, guys!

PUNY releases "Forest Face" mini documentary

Local interactive studio PUNY just released this hilarious mini-documentary in which owner Shad Petosky and crew go into the woods searching for magic with facial recognition software and a camera.

Koo Koo Kanga Roo release video for "Awesome Rainbows"

The fun-lovin' nuts of Koo Koo Kanga Roo have released their new video for "Awesome Rainbows" in which primary colors and secondary colors battle it out through a number of challenges. We love these zany kids!

Did Michele Bachman confuse John Wayne Gacy for John Wayne?

Today MPR News posted a pretty funny clip featuring presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann invoking the name of John Wayne, a son of Iowa with whom she shares a spirit, she says. Only she says John Wayne is from Waterloo, Iowa - which is actually where the infamous serial killer John Wayne Gacy was born. MPR points out that John Wayne, the actor, was born 167 miles away in Winterset, Iowa. Keep the gaffes coming, Michele.

Meanwhile, Twitter has been buzzing with the hilarious Adjective collected from six reviews of the new Bon Iver album by pop culture blog The Awl. Our favorites are the variations of "bearded": "beardo," "beardy."

In response, Minneapolis' own @solace seemed to have created a new meme, via a word cloud using nouns found in Bon Iver reviews.

Locally crowdsourced video drops: Sweat Up In My Creases

You may recall when last September we posted a video-sourcing call for what's now been dubbed "The Official-Unofficial Crowdsourced Minneapolis Jam of Summer 2011."

The story goes that Paula Biondich of Mono was really hot at work one day. She (jokingly) started crowd sourcing hip-hop lyrics to the verse "Sweat Up In My Creases" and the rest is history. Now you can enjoy this gross yet oh-so-true anthem in a slickly produced music video format--just in time for the "sweaty" season.

The website says:

"Inspired by what seemed to be the longest Minneapolis winter ever, we took to Facebook and crowdsourced lyrics for a hip-hop song dedicated to being hot. The best, funniest, most tangential, and HOTTEST rhymes got produced."
