It was a weekend of music in Minneapolis: the Vita.mn Are You Local? show on Friday was a blast and last night's Gayngs Affiliyated Showcase at First Avenue...well, it was epic. You pretty much live tweeted both events as well as other happenings around town. so, enjoy the Weekend Twitterings!

The Bitchelor Runs Into Harry Crane

Robyn Lewis, our LOL/OMG SXSW correspondent is a girl who is somehow always at the right place at the right time. Case in point: she randomly ran into Lady Gaga at the Turf Club last year. This time, Robyn ran into actor/comedian Rich Sommer, aka Harry Crane, head of media at Mad Men's Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce advertising agency.


Do you think he heard good things about Minneapolis from his buddy Vincent Kartheiser? We're positive he did. Vincent, as Robyn reports, will be visiting soon:

Target launches Target Style channel on Facebook

Target has launched a new social media channel today, Target Style, on Facebook. The Minneapolis-based company calls it a "a fresh mix of fashion & beauty for the style hungry."

Some of what to expect: Every month a new fashion illustrator is going to create an original piece for the face of Target Style. Their first featured fashion illustrator is Stockholm-based Stina Persson. Also look for giveaways, special offers, beauty and fashion trend news, and behind-the-scene exclusive videos and Q&As with Target designers.

PUNY releases short video on CollegeHumor.com skewering Apple

Local animation studio PUNY (which is behind the animation of Yo Gabba Gabba!) just released a new animated short for collegehumor.com, "Charlie and the Apple Factory," skewering Apple. It's clever, funny, and eye-catching - just what we would expect from PUNY.

Yeti Records launches its Mix Tape Exchange

We stumbled upon a few Facebook links to a new blog, the Yeti Records Mix Tape Exchange. Despite the social media connection, the blog from the owners of Yeti Records (Jake and Lisa Luck) is an effort to recreate a lo-fi, technologically retro movement - the mix tape. According to the blog, "To participate, you merely need to bring some kind of mix-tape to the shop (3506 Nicollet Ave South, Mpls.). It can be only be on cassette (Sorry to those who don't own a tape player.. perhaps you could buy or borrow one from a friend. ). It should have a cover. Though it is not required, it is encouraged. It should include a track listing. This will be an ongoing event!"

So far, two mix tapes have hit the store and the blog: "Shit Came Running" and "Time Spy." One even has hand sewn packaging. These shouldn't last long. Make your own mix tape, head to the store and exchange away.
