The local artist who painted the iconic watercolor of GAYNGS in a hot tub and had his portrait of Andrew W.K. made into album art is at it again. This time, the prolific Michael Gaughan has taken his brush to a sexy, shirtless Har Mar Superstar, who reacted on Facebook, "My pal and one of my favorite artists, Michael Gaughan made this amazing watercolor portrait of me. So honored!" We'll say.

Those ever-present fixtures of the local music scene Har Mar Superstar and the Ryan Olson-fronted experimental rock collective Marijuana Deathsquads just announced a month-long NYC residency at the Bowery Electric in October, with special guests TBA each week.

Andy Dick, Flea party with GAYNGS

So as GAYNGS wrapped up their West Coast tour with a DJ set from GAYNGS' Ryan Olson at School Night at the Bardot Hollywood on Monday night, they somehow hooked up with the notorious Andy Dick for what must have been a night of mayhem. And substances.

For their gig last night in L.A., local acts Marijuana Deathsquads, Har Mar Superstar, Mike Mictlan, P.O.S., Spyder Baybie Rawdog and Slapping Purses took over strip club Crazy Girls. And the resulting Tweets and TwitPics were LOL/OMG-worthy.

Har Mar live-Tweets the new Bieber movie on acid

Last night, Har Mar Superstar purportedly took acid and then went to see the new Justin Bieber movie in 3-D, and live Tweeted the results under the hashtag #AcidBieber3D.



In response, writers from local blog The Tangential took Robotussin and watched Disney classic The Little Mermaid - and Tweeted the results under the hashtag #TussedUpLilMermaid.

UPDATE: We just got a tip that Marijuana Deathsquads' Isaac Gale (who is out in L.A. recording and doing a weekly residency with Har Mar) was also at the outing and has some choice Tweets @iissaaaacc.

Marijuana Deathsquads + Har Mar to do L.A. residency

This just in via the Modern Radio message board: Marijuana Deathsquads have joined forces with Har Mar Superstar for a monthlong residency at L.A.'s Club Spaceland. It's no big shocker, being that Marijuana Deathsquads collaborator P.O.S. has been recording in L.A. over the past month, Har Mar calls L.A. home these days, and Har Mar and GAYNGS are regular collaborators. They will play every Friday in February.

Har Mar join forces with GAYNGS for George Michael cover

OMG! We heard rumblings of this and now it's official: Har Mar Superstar's track with local supergroup GAYNGS has been released exclusively to Stereogum. It's a George Michael cover (of course!) of "One More Try."

LOL/OMG! fans across the U.S. can get a taste of GAYNGS when they go on tour this fall (there are no Twin Cities dates, unfortunately).

Har Mar Superstar in Ghostbusters 3?

We can never get enough of Har Mar Superstar. The zany former local is looking to score a role in the upcoming production of Ghostbusters 3 and we think he'd be PERFECT. Well, we pretty much think he'd be perfect for anything, but especially something as cheesy as GB3.

A writer who initially suggested the idea has started a Facebook Fan page in hopes of bringing it to the attention of the producers. We totally became a fan!

Check out Har Mar's cameo in the Starsky and Hutch movie and tell us he couldn't trap a ghost with those stellar dance moves!

Har Mar Superstar facebooked this recently posted YouTube vid from 2008 where he accidentally throws some tater tots in a chick's face at Grumpy's. He was apparently trying to "shower tater tots on the crowd" when things went awry. But it sure does brings the LOLs!
