Project Runway's Christopher Straub & Mondo Guerra hang out in Mpls

Two of Project Runway's fan favorites have hitting the town in Minneapolis together this weekend. Hometown boy Christopher Straub of season six and season nine finalist Mondo Mondo served as judges for last night's IIDA Fusion+Fashion show at the Depot, and have made their way to the Saloon, the Walker Art Center and the Mall of America. UPDATE: here's a pic of the two:

They also hung out with local jewelry designer Jennifer Merchant at Too Much Love on Saturday night:

Local designer to appear on next season of "Project Runway"

Following in the footsteps of Ra'mon-Lawrence Coleman, Christopher Straub and Katherine Gerdes, yet another local designer has made it into the prestigious ranks of fashion reality show Project Runway. The contestants for the show's ninth season have just been announced, and Minneapolis' own Danielle Everine is among those competing. Knowing Danielle's stunning work in Voltage and "Pale Rider" last fall, we know she'll sew her way to the top! The new season will premiere on July 28 on Lifetime.

Project Runway's Seth Aaron to headline Minneapolis eco-fashion show

In addition to the news that locally connected Project Runway alums Ra'mon-Lawrence Coleman and Christopher Straub will be featured in the upcoming Sol Inspirations eco-fashion show, it was announced today that Season 7 winner Seth Aaron Henderson will join the lineup as well. Henderson will be rolling out his collection of "high-fashion solar power-inspired couture for Fuller." (we can't wait to see how this collection looks) and will also be sitting the judging panel to select a $5,000 winner from six finalists.

The show takes place on Saturday, April 23 at The Depot (the venue, not the bar) in downtown Minneapolis, with proceeds going to the Minnesota Renewable Energy Society and Haiti rebuilding efforts.

Tickets and other information available here.

Project Runway video game hits shelves

In case you haven't heard, Project Runway has been turned into a Wii game! The game officially hits shelves today and features the Twin Cities own Christopher Straub and ex-Minneapolitan Ra'mon Lawrence Coleman, who facebooked about the release today and also noted that Season 6 is now available on DVD.

Created by Atari, the game invites you to "Join Heidi, Tim, Nina, and Michael as you face the fiercest challenges of your burgeoning fashion career. Project Runway lets you play through a whole season of wild and wonderful fashion challenges."

We can't believe our local pals are immortalized on the Wii! So cool. Buy it in stores everywhere or on Amazon here.

More local 'Project Runway' ties

l'etoile fashion editor Jahna Peloquin did a bit of sleuthing and broke some interesting news on her personal blog...

Lifetime announced the contestants for Project Runway's seventh season yesterday, and unfortunately there are no local designers to be found on the lineup. However, there is one local model who will be competing. Her name is Monique Darton, and here's what I've been able to find out about her: she's originally from Brainerd, where she graduated from high school in 2003 and signed with Minneapolis agency Vision Model Management. She now lives in New York and is signed with Wilhelmina Models.
