Pink Mink's "Seekin' Scott Seekins" video released

The long-awaited (by this, we mean a couple of weeks ago) video for Pink Mink's "Seekin' Scott Seekins" is now online, courtesy of MPLS.TV's City of Music and director Dan Huiting.

Scott Seekins Speaks!

Dave Campbell is interviewing local artist/Minneapolis icon Scott Seekins live on 89.3 The Current's The Local Show RIGHT NOW. It's a rare chance to hear straight from the mouth of the quiet artist, hear his local music picks and how music has inspired his art.

Some fun facts: Scott says he was born Anton in Eau Claire, where he was abandoned and later adopted (which is when he was renamed Scott); he formulated his trademark black and white looks inspired by vintage clothing shops when he was attending MCAD.

Seeing Scott Seekins

Scott Seekins look-alikes converged last night at Nick and Eddie for the iconic local artist's "Changing of the Suits" party, commemorating his annual change from a white to a black suit for the winter season.

Pink Mink meets Scott Seekins

Gimme Noise posted something awesome today! Apparently, local band Pink Mink had never actually met the catalyst for their rockin' tune "Seekin' Scott Seekins." But Tuesday night at Nick & Eddie proved to be the inadvertent meeting grounds for the band and notorious local artist, Scott Seekins. And in true Seekins style, he ate up the attention, even standing on a chair in the middle of the bar during the song.

We're crossing our fingers that sometime he'll join them on stage. And we know damn well he'd star in a music video if asked (crossing toes)!

Pink Mink is seekin' Scott Seekins!

Ha! We love this!!!!

Our pal Cyn Collins posted this little gem on her Facebook page: a grainy YouTube vid of NEW Minneapolis band, Pink Mink performing their song "Seekin' Scott Seekens" (Seekins, as you probs know, is the most recognizable artist in town...you've definitely seen him!)

Says Cyn, "Christy Hunt (Ouija Radio, Von Bondies) and her brand spanking new band, with Arzu Gocken, Charles Gehr and Jacques Wait. See them at Grumpy's art-a-whirl 5:30 I think. Hopefully I'll get to book them at 501!"

Pink Mink is definitely some kick ass girl rock (with some boys thrown in the mix)! Not to mention, we'll pretty much get behind any band that sings about the amazing Scott Seekins. We hope Cyn books 'em for a Tuesday show at the 501 soon!

Seekins a la Familia

We noticed this oldie but goodie pop up on Minneapolis' Familia Skateshop's Facebook page, with iconic local artist Scott Seekins in an Obey-style design. Familia did a run of this design in a t-shirt in 2008. We think they should bring it back!

Thanks to Kara Nesvig for linking to this post featuring head pieces from the PETROU/MAN fashion week presentation. Kara hilariously noted similarities to the signature style of iconic Minneapolis artist-about-town, Scott Seekins. We totally want one!
