Brett Favre is such a tease. The Minnesota Vikings Quarterback was on Jay Leno last night and his fans were really excited to hear him answer the million dollar question: is he or is he not staying with the Vikes? The three-time NFL MVP, unfortunately, said he remains undecided about a possible return to the Vikings next season. Nevertheless, Favre took the gold watch Leno gave him for his "retirement". "I haven't made a decision yet. But, I'll take the watch.", said Favre who later admitted he was a Hannah Montana fan. So, yes, he pretty much talked about everything his loyal fans don't really care about.



The Twitterati seem to be optimistic, though, thinking Favre will be back in MPLS this summer:

It's Your Birthday!

Metro Magazine tweeted a link to a fantastic article on the architectural history of First Avenue in honor of venue's upcoming 40th birthday. Phillip Koski calls our favorite concert venue a "tough bitch" and "a sturdy and genuine mess of a landmark." We love it!

Hate potholes?

Of course you do. The good thing is, you can finally do something about it! Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) is working with SeeClickFix to map the worst potholes in the city and alert the officials in charge of fixing them. By clicking on the interactive map you can "report your potholes" and also track them. In addition, you can write a citizen report too! MPR's Tim Nelson showed initiative by actually joining a public works crew in their mission and he discovered a few things along the way - there are a LOT of potholes and they are REALLY hard to fix. Also, filling potholes is a dangerous business.

Some of the Twitter responses are quite interesting, as people have been chatting about this all day today. @secayford tweets: So, MPR's pothole plotting page is cool and all, but can I just put a big X on the whole city and say "potholes here?"

Gayngs posts a micro teaser

Damn them and their elusiveness! We can't take it!

The secretive upcoming collabo project by a slew of local musical luminaries, Gayngs, released this cool mini-trailer today via their Facebook fan page. If you're still confused as to what the hell Gayngs is all about after watching the vid (and you will be), check out our post from a couple weeks ago.

Also, a prom-themed release party is set for May 14th at 1st Ave. City Pages has the deets here. Tickets are already on sale, so ya better step to it. This will surely sell out.

Project Runway video game hits shelves

In case you haven't heard, Project Runway has been turned into a Wii game! The game officially hits shelves today and features the Twin Cities own Christopher Straub and ex-Minneapolitan Ra'mon Lawrence Coleman, who facebooked about the release today and also noted that Season 6 is now available on DVD.

Created by Atari, the game invites you to "Join Heidi, Tim, Nina, and Michael as you face the fiercest challenges of your burgeoning fashion career. Project Runway lets you play through a whole season of wild and wonderful fashion challenges."

We can't believe our local pals are immortalized on the Wii! So cool. Buy it in stores everywhere or on Amazon here.

Dealing with the 'Situation'

We sort of knew it last week when we wrote about Mike "the Situation" visiting Minneapolis that we were not actually going to go to Bootleggers just to see his abs. We wanted to, but we didn't. Luckily, we got real time reports from a few people who were there (deliberately or by accident) and we included their tweets to our Weekend Twitterings post. Folks form Metromix Twin Cities were at the "scene of the crime" too and they snapped a bunch of photos that they just posted on their website. Here are a few highlights of the evening:

Har Mar LOL

Har Mar Superstar facebooked this recently posted YouTube vid from 2008 where he accidentally throws some tater tots in a chick's face at Grumpy's. He was apparently trying to "shower tater tots on the crowd" when things went awry. But it sure does brings the LOLs!

Sponsor a Klingon

Local cake artist Marie Porter posted a link on Facebook this morning that made us LOL and piqued our nerdy interest! We're sure most of you heard about or have possibly seen Commedia Beauregard's annual production of A Klingon Christmas Carol, in which, well...Klingons re-enact the timeless classic. Genius, eh? We think so.

Anyhoo, the local Klingon clan has been nominated for a strange award at the International Special Events Society's "Star Awards" for "Best Use of Food in an Event." What was the food? It was a cake designed by Marie, fashioned after a Klingon ship. Yes, really. The tickets are a little pricey, so Marie and her planned entourage of four strapping Klingon warriors are seeking small donations from their friends and fans to send them to the awards show -- in full Klingon attire, of course. Donors from $5-$75 get cool "thank you" gifts such as autographed pics of the Klingons and brownie mix.

Donate and read more about it HERE. At the very least, you can take heart in the fact that you helped send a pack of Klingons into a fancy, red carpet affair. And that alone is worth at least $5, if you ask us!
