Four Nights in Loring POSTPONED for tonight!
Spread the word! Due to potentially crappy weather, the second installment of Four Nights in Loring is being postponed (rescheduled date TBD).
City Pages' Andrea Swensson says via the Facebook event:
With severe thunderstorms on the horizon, we have decided to postpone tonight's "4 Nights in Loring" event with Marijuana Deathsquads and Fargo. Though a dark and brooding evening seems fitting for tonight's Loring Park event, we'd rather keep everyone safe from what the weather service is predicting to be a tumultuous evening. We will be announcing the rescheduled date soon.
In the meantime, we are still hosting a party at Nick and Eddie tonight, rain or shine, featuring bluesy rockers City on the Make. We've also just added DJ Ken Hannigan from Anthem Heart to the bill, so it's sure to be a fun time! There is no cover for tonight's gig, so come on down.

Pop singer wears Christopher Straub to Teen Choice Awards
Fledgling pop singer Brittani Senser wore a Christopher Straub F/W 2010 dress to the 2010 Teen Choice Awards last night (airing tonight on Fox). She also brought Bristol Palin baby daddy Levi Johnston as her date. Apparently, the Minnesota-born singer (and daughter of former Vikings player Joe Senser) wanted to show her support to her hometown by wearing a Twin Cities designer.

Azia goes out with a bang...and an open bar
We here at LOL/OMG are crying in our sushi over the closing of Azia Restaurant (even though we've got Thom Pham's Wondrous Azian Kitchen to look forward to next week). We'll miss the Eat Street staple dearly, but this just-posted promo vid put together by Azia in anticipation of their big closing bash makes us feel a little better. Tickets to the soiree this Sunday, August 8th are $50 but also come along with the magic words OPEN BAR. Not to mention awesome food specials plus DJs in the Caterpillar Lounge and in A25 and live jazz in the main restaurant. Nice! We'll totally be there with bells on!

Thanks to the talented (and super pretty) Ms. Amy Gee for snapping some hot shots at the LOL/OMG Social Media Meetup and Rock Show at the 501 Club last night! We had a total blast! WaxxMaxx featuring Nicole Brenny, Alyssa Brenny and Mark Mallman kicked things off, followed by the always rockin' Ed and Ashley Ackerson of BNLX and the pure amazingness of Phantom Tails. ALL these bands blew our minds with their awesomeness, so be sure to check them out sometime if you were too lame to make the party.
